On June 6, 2006, Mount Vernon Police responded to the report of two robberies.  The first robbery occurred in the 100 Block of N 1st Street at 3:10 PM.  The suspect entered a pharmacy and demanded drugs.  A weapon was implied but was not seen.  Suspect left the pharmacy on foot.

The second robbery was reported at Wells Fargo Bank in the 1500 block of Riverside Drive at 3:50.  The suspect entered the bank, demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money.  He left on foot and was last seen at the north east corner of the bank.  No weapon was seen, however one was implied.

The description of the suspects in both robberies is similar; white male early to mid 20's with short dark hair, plaid blue short sleeve shirt, and blue denim shorts below the knees, 6', 210 pounds wearing sunglasses and dark shoes.  We are looking into the possibility that the suspect is connected to both robberies.

K-9 was called to the scene however the suspect was not located.

Anyone with information concerning either of these robberies is encouraged to contact the Mount Vernon Police Department at (360) 336-6271 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or call 9-1-1.
