How to apply

Step 1.  Obtain a UBI (Unified Business Identifier) Number from

Step 2:  Obtain a Business License application packet from City Hall (910 Cleveland) or down load the form.

Step 3:  Complete the form and return it to City Hall with the appropriate fee (see schedule).

Other Important Procedures: 

Ø             Home Based Business- Apply for a Home Occupation Permit through Development Services (336-6214) located at City Hall

Ø             Day Care Providers- Obtain Certification from DSHS, 900 E. College Way, 416-7205 AND Home Occupation Permit from Development Services (336-6214).

Licenses are issued for a one-year period Jan.-Dec.

ALL licenses renew annually on January 1

Don't forget!  Collect & remit sales tax to the State of Washington to the credit of Mount Vernon.
