Scott McMullen was elected to his first term beginning January 2004.   Scott is married to Nelma McMullen and is a proud father of eight children.  He graduated from Pierce College in Tacoma.

Scott has been a firefighter/emergency medical technician for the Boeing Company for the last 16 years.  He has served in the Air Force for the last 26 years, with the last 22 years in the reserves as a firefighter.  His current position is Assistant Fire Chief.  He was activated and proudly served a year of active duty from October 2001 until October 2002.

Scott was elected and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the International Association of Firefighters Local I-66.  He enjoys being a member of Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon because of the priority it places on children.  Scott enjoys camping, fishing and boating with his family.  Scott's role model is his father, the late State Senator Pat McMullen, from whom he learned a great deal about public service.

Scott's particular interests include public safety, parks and recreation, and quality of life for the citizens of Mount Vernon.  Scott greatly enjoys serving the residents of the City he loves.
