Mount Vernon Fire fighter's Community Trust FundBack

 

 

The Fire Department strives to provide the most professional emergency care and the highest level of customer service to the community of Mount Vernon. The career firefighters have created the Mount Vernon Firefighters' Community Trust; a fund that is designed to help those in need of financial assistance in their time of emergency.   The fund, which is seeded and built upon by donations and fund raisers provides vouchers, coupons, and cash at the disposal of every firefighter on each "first out" responding fire apparatus.  The fund was created to assist those who are in obvious desperation and down on their luck.  The intent of the fund is to allow firefighters to give money to someone who might need food, clothing, a taxi ride, a tow, or a hotel for a night after a house fire.  The firefighter's are requested to use their own judgment and discretion on what they give money for.  

This is just another way that we continue to strive towards providing the highest level of care to our citizens.  If you would like to donate to the fund please feel free to contact us at 336-6277.

On Valentines Day 2012, Haggen Grocery donated $520.00 to the community trust fund on behalf of The Mount Vernon  Firefighter's who donated their time to deliver flowers on February 14th. Thank you Haggen for the opportunity.
