January 2007 Baby Found at ChurchBack

On January 28th 2007 at approximately 10:50 AM an infant was found on the steps of the Immaculate Conception Church, located in the 100 block of South 5th Street.

The infant is a boy with dark hair and eyes believed to be less than 24 hours old.  The infant was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The infant was dressed in a one piece blue outfit with a bear on the front and rapped in a blue NEMO blanket.

Officers contacted neighbors in the area looking for witnesses however none were located.

Anyone with information regarding this infant or this case is encouraged to contact the Mount Vernon Police Department at (360) 336-6271 Monday through Friday during business hours or call (360) 428-3211 after hours.
