Following is information on building permit, land use, and impact fees.  While staff makes every attempt to keep these fee schedules up-to-date there are times when fees have been increased and these increases are not relected within the fee schedules on this web site.

NEW NOTICE -- Building Permit Fees

The previous policy of the City of Mount Vernon has been to collect Plan Review Fees at the time of permit issuance. City staff as performed plan review on several occasions where the contractor, owner or owners agent never came in to pick up and pay for a permit. In these cases the City has performed work, without receiving compensation. The new policy of collecting plan review fees at time of submittal will begin on April 5, 2010.

In an effort to ensure that the City is compensated for plan review in cases, where permits are never picked up, a change to the fee schedule will require plan review fees be paid at time of submittal. Fees are as follows:

Commercial Plan review fees will be 65% of the permit fees. These projects would be Commercial, Industrial, Mixed Use and Multi Family with 3 or more units.

Single Family Residences and Duplexes shall be a flat fee of $100.00. (Including Basics)

Additions, Accessory Structures for single family residences and duplexes shall be a flat fee of $25.00. This includes, but not limited to , garage, sheds, decks, sunrooms, living space, bonus rooms, etc..

Fees are calculated using the total valuation of the proposed project.

Plans cannot be processed or held without payment of plan review fees.
