Sewer Rate Changes Effective April 1, 2010
The City of Mount Vernon has changed the method of billing residential customers for sewer service. Historically, the City has charged a flat rate (currently $41.60 per month) to all residential customers. Effective April 1, 2010 the City began charging residential customers for sewer services based on a water consumption usage rate. This change will first be reflected on the billing received in May 2010. The Mount Vernon City Council adopted this rate change on March 10, 2010 per City Ordinance 3486.
